Wednesday, May 21, 2026 | Indiana, PA - Three Indiana track athletes qualified for the PIAA AAA Track & Field Championships to be held in Shippensburg, PA on Friday, May 22 & Saturday, May 23. Gracie Reed, Kaiden Branan and newly crowned WPIAL AAA 800 meter champion Liam Templeton are making the trip to represent the Indians. Reed ran a 25.34 time (4th place) in the 200 at the WPIAL meet, which is also her PR and is now good enough for 2nd place in school history in the event. Reed also ran a 57.47 at the WPIAL meet, which netted her 2nd place in the meet. Her PR in the 400 is a 57.10 which is 2nd place in the Indiana history books.
Reed's qualifying time in the 400 lines up for 17th on the performance list with the number one runner from Cedar Crest having a time for 51.48. Reed's time in the 200 is also good for 17th on the performance list with the number one time also being from Cedar Crest with a time of 23.48.
Kaiden Branan took 4th place in the 800 with a time of 1:57.58. Branan is the new record holder in the 800 as of this year with his PR time of 1:54.01. Liam Templeton took gold at the WPIAL meet in the 800 with his time of 1:55.60. His PR time in the event is 1:54.38 which is 3rd in the Indiana history books. Templeton is the first WPIAL Champion for Indiana in track events since Abby Huey took gold in the 200 & 400 in 2022 and is the first overall champion since Charlie Weber took the top of the podium in pole vault in 2023.
Templeton comes into the meet with a qualifying time good enough for 16th on the performance sheet & Branan qualifying time of 25th with the number one runner from Upper Darby running a 1:50.82 qualifying time.
