Indiana Track & Field Notches Program's First Tie; Strong Finishes in First Home Meet

Tuesday, March 24, 2026 | Indiana, PA - Indiana's track and field teams returned to action Tuesday afternoon hosting Greater Latrobe in their WPIAL section opening meet. In what is likely a first for Indiana track and field the girls tied Latrobe's girls 72-72. Even after all tiebreakers were applied, the teams had to settle for a tied meet. Tiebreakers are broken in track and field using the following tie-breaking rules.

1) Team with fewest game misconducts. Neither team had any.
2) Team with the most first place finishes. (9-9)
3) Team with the most second places. (7-7)
4) Team with most third places. (6-6)

The following girls won their respective events on the day.

Kayla Baker 3200 meters - 12:43.43
Sophie Elchin 100 hurdles - 23.54
Sophie Elchin 300 hurdles - 1:04.65

Addy Porter long jump 14-3
4x400 relay Emory Derry, Morgan Blystone, Kaylee Onder and Aubrey Hunger 4:52.08
4x800 relay Morgan Blystone, Aubrey Hunger, Kaylee Onder and Kayla Baker 10:30.13

On the boys side of the ledger Latrobe came away with the victory beating g Indiana 82-68.
