Wednesday, May 20, 2026 | Pittsburgh, PA - The Indiana baseball team is headed back to the WPIAL (District 7) Championship for the third year in a row! Indiana baseball, similar to the Indiana girls' swimming & diving team the past two seasons has a chance to do something that is a rarity and that is become back to back district champions.
Indiana's starter
Shane McHugh was on the bump to start the game, he allowed one hit through three innings of work before giving way to
Charlie Manzi to close out the game and pitch four innings of no-hit baseball. McHugh & Manzi extended the Indians scoreless innings streak to 16 which stems all the way back to May 7th in a regular season matchup with Gateway. Clutch hitting from the #9 hitter in the order, freshman
Ben Cowburn opened up the scoring for Indiana when they plated two on a single to shallow left center field in the second inning. Indiana then plated another run on sacrifice fly in the third inning and that's all they would need to get the victory.
Up Next
#1 seeded Indiana will face off against familiar foe the #2 seeded Elizabeth Forward Warriors for the second year in a row for the WPIAL Championship. Date & Time are yet to be determined. The game will be played at EQT Park in Washington, PA, home of the Washington Wild Things.
