Monday, May 18, 2026 | Monroeville, PA - The Indiana baseball team survived and advanced on Monday in true Indiana baseball fashion, winning a pitching duel over familiar section opponent Knoch by a score of 1-0. The game was Indiana's fifth game this season and 11th game over the course of the past two seasons decided by one run.
Brady Oakes took the bump for the Indians, scattering two hits over 4 innings striking out six hitters in the process. Charie Manzi came in relief and fired three hitless innings while striking out three and securing the game for the Indians.
Chace Force led the way for Indiana with three hits, two going for doubles. Indiana scored their lone run in thanks to a walk from freshman
Ben Cowburn, followed by a Force double and an Oakes walk to load the bases for senior
Ethan Shank. Shank promptly rocketed a ball to the first basemen for a fielder's choice which brought Cowburn home. One run was all the Indians needed due to great defensive efforts by infielders
Shane McHugh,
Dylan Shank and
Chace Force.
Michael Zimmerman ran down some hard hit fly balls in left field as well for the Indians.
