Indiana Set to Host First Ever PIAA Baseball Championship Tournament Game on Monday; Preview

Sunday June 1, 2025 | Indiana, PA - For the third consecutive year, the Indiana baseball team has qualified for the PIAA tournament and for the first time in school history, the first round will be on their own turf. Indiana gets the pleasure of hosting due to their extra inning walk-off thriller of a win in the District 7 (WPIAL) Championship game last Tuesday at EQT Park in Washington, PA. The victory was the school's first ever WPIAL Baseball Championship. It was the definition of a team victory with great defense, quality at-bats and strong situational pitching to lead the Indians to victory. A couple of big moments in the game were the quadrant of pitchers (Greg Minnick, Ryan Okopal, Brady Oakes & Mark Collinger) limiting their opponent, Elizabeth Forward, to just two runs throughout the 11 inning contest. Charlie Manzi came up big for the Indians in the bottom of the 11th sending a rocket to right field to end the game on a two-run home run. Indiana would walk away with a victory by a score of 4-2.
