Monday, May 26, 2025 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana baseball team is headed to the WPIAL 4A Championship game for the second time in school history and for the second consecutive year. Claiming the #1 seed in the WPIAL Tournament, Indiana would recieve a first round bye, then Indiana would defeat #9 seeded Ambridge in the quarterfinal round and the #5 seeded Belle Vernon in the semi-final round out their path to the championship game. Indiana has outscored opponents 12-3 in the WPIAL Playoffs. Last year, Indiana would make it to the championship game, but would ultimately lose to North Catholic and secured the 2nd place spot. Indiana has already locked up their PIAA State Playoff berth, but now will be playing for seeding. Seemingly, should Indiana come away victorious on Tuesday, they should be hosting the first round of the PIAA Tournament.
The Opponent
#3 Elizabeth Forward tied for first in the 4A Section 2 section with a section record of 10-2. Indiana defeated Elizabeth Forward earlier in the year on April 9th by a score of 6-1. Elizabeth Forward has had a similar path as Indiana through the WPIAL Championships, securing a first round bye, then defeating Ringgold and Central Valley while outscoring opponents 12-6.
