Cosentino's Blast, Force's Arm Propel Indians Past Chucks

Wednesday, April 2, 2025 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana baseball team was victorious over the Chucks from Punxsutawney on Wednesday for the first time in the last three contests with a score of 9-4. Indiana improves to 6-0 on the season with a 56-13 run differential.

Indiana broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning, thanks in part to a two-run blast by senior outfielder Rocco Cosentino. Indiana did not allow a run past the first inning to the Chucks from a combined pitching effort of Mark Collinger (2 2/3 innings, one hit allowed, three strikeouts) and Caden Force (four hitless innings, seven strikeouts).

Other contributors for the Indians were Carter Putt who had two walks, two runs scored and five stolen bases, Charlie Manzi who had two walks and two runs scored, Caden Force who was 1-2 with an RBI, Tim Birch who was 1-2 with a run scored and an RBI and Will Olsen who was 1-1 with two runs scored.

On Monday (March 31), Indiana 10-run ruled Highlands by a score of 12-2 while only playing six innings of the game. Indiana pitchers Greg Minnick (3 IP, 5 k's, 1 ER) & Sullivan VanHoose (3 IP, 7 k's) combined on the mound for the victory. Carter Putt was 1-3 with two RBI's and a run scored, Ethan Shank was 2-3 with an RBI, Mark Collinger was 1-3 with a triple, RBI, and a run scored, Sullivan VanHoose was 1-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, Caden Force was 2-2 with a double and two runs scored, Rocco Cosentino was 1-3 with a run scored and an RBI, and Brady Oakes was 1-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

On Tuesday (April 1), two Indiana pitchers threw a combined no-hitter against section opponent Highlands. Ryan Okopal (5 IP, 6 k's) & Brady Oakes (2 IP, 3 k's) were the tandem that toed the rubber for Indiana. In that game Caden Force was a force at the dish going 3-3 with a double and two runs scored.
