Wednesday, June 12, 2024 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana baseball team will represent the community of Indiana in its first ever appearance in the PIAA Baseball State Championship on Thursday, June 13th at 1:35 PM. Indiana, led by first year Head Coach Dan Petroff are in new territory in the community, hoping to become just the second team in Indiana School History to hoist a PIAA Championship Trophy (shoutout to our boys' swimming & diving team who brought home the trophy earlier this year!). Indiana has had an interesting path to the championship game, defeating the defending champions from last year, the Bellefonte Red Raiders in the first round by a score of 3-0, then heading to the Quarterfinals, a place they would see their season end last year, to face off against East Pennsboro and won in walk-off fashion defeating the Panthers 6-5. Indiana would then see themselves in their first ever semifinal game and would defeated the Tigers from Fleetwood by a score of 10-3. 

The Match Up
Indiana will face off against Holy Ghost Preparatory School on Thursday, June 13th. The Firebirds come out of District 1 as the champions. Holy Ghost defeated District 12 runner-up Constitution 20-0 in the first round, then defeated District 2 Champion Dallas by a score of 14-6. They then came from behind and defeated District 4 Champs Danville by a score of 8-6. The Firebirds boast a record of 17-8 on the year. The Firebirds come into the game with a team batting average of .304 and a team ERA of 3.75.

SEND OFF
Indiana community residents, please join us at 8:30 AM on the morning of June 13th at the Indiana Sr. High School or on Philadelphia Street between 5th and 7th Street as we send off the Indiana baseball team on their way to the PIAA 4A Championship!

The game will be played at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park in State College, PA. The address is: 112 Medlar Field at Lubrano Park; University Park, State College, PA 16802.

Tickets/Parking
All tickets must be purchased on the PIAA website, and will cost $8 plus fees. Children Pre-K are admitted free-of-charge. All sales will be by credit card only.  Parking is free at Lubrano Park for all spectators.

Fan Seating
There is no assigned seating, all tickets are general admission. Luxury Suites are available per request and for a fee of $1,000. Please contact Dan Roan at droan@iasd.cc to inquire and to get pointed in the right direction.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located throughout Medlar Field at Lubrano Park along the concourse.

Concessions
Concession stands will be open and running. Concessions can take both cash and card.
