Friday, May 10, 2024 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana baseball team finishes their regular season today with a match up with Armstrong. Prior to the game, Indiana held a 10-8 record overall (7-3 in section). Indiana is back in the WPIAL tournament after making a Cinderella run last year reaching the semifinals before their departure after a game with the ultimate Cinderella in #14 Hopewell who went on to win the entire bracket. 

Indiana draws the #9 seed in the tournament and will face off against #8 Central Valley in the first round. Central Valley finished 10-7 overall (7-3 in section) and has outscored opponents 82-66.

Indiana's offense is led by senior Ben Ryan. Ryan is batting .423 on the season with 22 hits, 12 runs, 23 RBIs and six home runs. Senior Trevor Smith is batting .380 with 19 hits, 19 runs and 10 RBIs. Junior Mark Collinger is batting .341 with 15 hits, nine runs and eight RBIs. Senior Andrew McGee boasts a .333 average with 17 hits, nine runs and eight RBIs. Sophomore Ethan Shank has a .326 average with 14 hits with 10 runs and eight RBIs. Ryan and Tim Birch lead Indiana on the base paths with six stolen bases each. Charlie Manzi has five stolen bases on the year along with McGee. Collinger has four. The trio of Tristan Redinger, Smith and Kadin Homer each have three stolen bases. Juniors Greg Minnick and Ryan Okopal head the pitching staff for Indiana. Minnick sports a 1.99 ERA to go along with 53 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings. Okopal has a 2.62 ERA to go along with a 6-1 record and 38 strikeouts in 24 innings. Rounding out the staff is sophomore Sullivan VanHoose. VanHoose has been quite dominate himself this year sporting a 1.52 ERA with a 25:6 strikeout to walk ratio in 23 innings of work.
