Monday, May 8, 2023 | Indiana, PA - Within the friendly confines of Owen J. Dougherty Field, Indiana routed the Golden Eagles of Somerset by a score of 11-5. Indiana extended their winning streak to four games, defeating Kiski Prep once and Highlands twice over that span, scoring double digit runs in each contest. Garrison Dougherty going 2-3 with two runs scored on the field named after his grandfather. Freshman
Ethan Shank notched two hits of his own on the day while also driving in two runs.
Gavin Homer and
Michael Tortorella both doubled in the contest, while Homer brought in two runs as well. On the mound, Indiana got scoreless efforts from
Andrew McGee (two innings) and
Kadin Homer. Homer tossed three perfect innings, retiring all 9 batters he faced in a row. Indiana currently sits at a 12-7 record overall and a 7-3 section record. Good for second place in the section, trailing North Catholic by a game.
