Indiana Defeats Knoch On Homecoming; Extends Win-Streak to Three

Friday, September 26, 2025 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana football team improved their record to 3-3 following a 21-14 win Friday night over section opponent Knoch. The win was also Indiana's third in a row, something that has not been done since 2021. Additionally it was Indiana's third home victory in a row, the last time that happened was in the 2014 season under Coach Zilinskas. It was a great night for Homecoming as Indiana welcomed back members of the 1980 class to celebrate their 45th reunion. Knoch scored first in the first quarter but Indiana answered back when Jason Strack found Tyler Nelson in the back of the end zone from six yards out as the second quarter began. Later in the second quarter, Strack found Jace Brocious on a pass where Brocious weaved his way through oncoming traffic to score for a 59-yard score. In the third quarter, Strack rushed it in himself from 13-yards out for a score to make it 21-7. Knoch would score in the fourth but it was too late as Indiana was able to get into victory formation to seal the game with the final score being 21-14. Indiana would compile 314 yards of total offense on the day.

Per the homecoming tradition, a member of the Indiana football team took home Scott A. Zellem Memorial MVP honors. Zellem graduated from Indiana High School in 1987 and from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1991, and recieved his Naval aviation wings at Pensacola, Florida in 1992. Leiutenant Commander Scott Allen Zellem was one of four Navy officers killed on August 10, 2004 when their S-3B Viking surveillance aircraft crashed on the island of Kito Iwo Jima while conducting flight operations from the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis. Zellem was a standout linebacker/tight end for Indiana during the 1984-1986 seasons. He was a three-year letter winner as Indiana football compiled a 25-6-1 record during his three years. Zellem was voted team MVP and conference defensive player of the yar for the 1986 season and was also selected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic. Sophomore Quarterback Jason Strack was selected for this year's honors, compiling 157 yards of total offense and accounting for three total touchdowns for the Indians.
