Friday, August 30, 2024 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana football team came into Friday night ready to put that first win in the books and take care of business and they did just that against the Rams from Ringgold.
Indiana was led by senior quarterback
Quinn Lipniskis alongside junior running back
Elijah Thomas and utility man senior
Rocco Cosentino. Anchors of the defensive line Jonny Wyant and
Darius Webb both had impressive games as well combining for three sacks, three tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Junior
Trevon Joseph had a key red zone interception for Indiana in the first half when the Rams were threatening.
The game was quite the thriller, with Indiana kneeing the ball to end the 4th quarter when the game was tied at seven points a piece. Indiana would get the ball first in OT, starting at their own 10-yard line. After a couple plays, Lipniskis would find
Rocco Cosentino on a screen play where Cosentino would rumble his way to the end zone. Tim Birch put Indiana up by seven with the extra point. Then it was Ringgold's turn, and after a few plays and a penalty would find themselves on the Indiana five-yard line on a third down when the quarterback would scramble his way into the end zone. Ringgold then called a timeout and I think everyone in Andy Kuzneski Field knew they were drawing up a play to end their then 26-game winless streak.
Trent Bufalo,
Rocco Cosentino and
Takwon Davis would make the game sealing gang tackle on the Ringgold quarterback at the two-yard line sealing the victory for Indiana.
Quick Stats
Elijah Thomas led Indiana rushers with 16 attempts for 89 yards.
Quinn Lipniskis ran 21 times for 31 yards and a TD and went 5/10 passing for 44 yards and a TD. Lipniskis also had an INT in the game as well on defense.
