Job Title:
Indiana Area High School Girls Lacrosse Coach

Position Summary:
Indiana Area Lacrosse Club (IALAX), located in Indiana, PA, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Head JV/Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach for the 2025 season. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment that supports student-athletes' growth both on and off the field. This position is responsible for coaching, developing practice plans, promoting sportsmanship, working collaboratively with assistant coaches, team manager(s), volunteers, and parents, and overseeing the overall success of the program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct effective practices that develop players' skills, teamwork, and lacrosse knowledge.
  • Instruct student-athletes in game strategies, rules, and safety procedures.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal development.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Organize and manage equipment, uniforms, and other team logistics in collaboration with team manager(s) and volunteers.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents of players, assistant coaches, team manager(s), volunteers, the IALAX Board, and school administrators regarding team schedules, expectations, and progress.
  • Utilize the Club's designated platform (e.g., Sports Engine, CrossBar, or similar) for team, player, and parent communication as well as team scheduling.
  • Work collaboratively with assistant coaches, team manager(s), volunteers, and parents of players to support practice planning, game-day operations, and player development.
  • Attend all practices, games, and team events, including pre-season meetings, tournaments, and end-of-season celebrations.
  • Coordinate with the athletic director to schedule games and arrange transportation.
  • Support academic achievement and monitor student-athlete eligibility.
  • Abide by all club, school, district, and league policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of USA Lacrosse rules, fundamentals, and strategies of the game.
  • Prior coaching experience at the high school or club level preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
  • Ability to work effectively with assistant coaches, team manager(s), volunteers, and parents of players to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Ability to recruit and develop future players by collaborating with the youth lacrosse program.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn the Club's designated platform (e.g., Sports Engine, CrossBar, etc.) to manage team, player, and parent communication and team scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience coaching girls' teams.
  • Collegiate playing experience or higher-level coaching certification.
  • Proven ability to build team cohesion and develop a competitive program.

Compensation:
 [To be determined based on experience, qualifications, and budget availability. Currently $3500.00]
