Friday, April 26, 2024 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana girls' lacrosse team extended their winning-streak to eight games after defeating Winchester Thurston on Friday night by a score of 15-8.
Indiana, fresh off the heels of their best game of the year in an 8-6 section victory over rival Plum came into Friday night on a mission. Indiana celebrated 13 seniors on the team on Friday night prior to the game, those seniors were,
Emma Masengale,
Kayla Leon,
Gianna Brody,
Natalie Bianco,
Tess Kuzneski,
Brynlee Schawl,
Ava Elliot,
Zoe Wright,
Cileigh Clemons, Adeline Lockard,
Kate Lehman,
Kyla Weaver &
Anna Buterbaugh.
After the pregame ceremonies wrapped up, it was time for the game to begin. Indiana darted out to a quick lead and never looked back. Senior
Kyla Weaver led the scoring with five goals and three assists. Fellow seniors
Tess Kuzneski,
Kate Lehman and
Kayla Leon each scored two goals along with one assist apiece. Rounding out Indiana's scoring were
Brynlee Schawl,
Lucia Clark and Gabby Sharp with one goal each. On defense
Addie Lockard picked up two ground balls to hit the 100 career mark.
Laken Kugler had three ground balls, and
Ava Elliott and
Samantha Lawson each had two.
Anna Buterbaugh had four saves and
Ava Thomas had three saves while splitting time in goal. Indiana improves to 10-2 overall and 8-0 in section.
