Tuesday, February 20, 2024 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana girls' basketball team is headed to the WPIAL Quarterfinals for the first time since 2022 after their win over Moon in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs on Tuesday night by a score of 43-34. After a very defensive 1st quarter on both sides, Indiana held a 5-4 lead going into the 2nd, where they would explode out to an 11-point halftime lead off an eight-point quarter by
Bella Antonacci and a huge defensive play to seal the half by
Emily Ferraro when she stole the ball and went the other way for a layup to extend the lead to double digits. The 2nd half saw Moon battle back to within five points multiple times, but Indiana held steady throughout and finished strong to win by a final score of 43-34.
Bella Antonacci led Indiana with 18 points, while
Stella Stossel contributed a huge six points, in addition to being a great defensive and rebounding presence.
Cassie Boyer also had six, while
Laken Kugler added five,
Addy Hutton had four, and
Julia Antonacci and
Emily Ferraro had two each.
Cassie Boyer led Indiana with 11 rebounds, six on the offensive side.
