Indiana Track & Field Competes at Butler Invitational

Friday, April 21, 2023 | Butler, PA - The Indiana track and field teams participated in the 58th annual Butler Invitational Friday night at Butler High School. I'm a field of roughly 80 teams, the Indiana girls finished 7th overall with 25 points.  Abbie Huey paced the girls by winning the 400 meter race in 57.75 and taking 2nd place in the 200 meters with her time of 25.60. Katie Kovalchick also scored individually for the girls by taking 8th place in the javelin with a personal best throw of 111-11.  The girls also scored in two of the relays with the 4x800 team of Rachel Gill, Emmy Davis, Eve Kuzneski, and Addie Fry taking 8th (10:15.34) and the 4x400 team of Huey, Kuzneski, Cadence Ullman, and Kate Mill taking 4th (4:12.47).


The boys managed to score 20 points in placing 13th overall in the meet. Individually the boys were led by freshman Levi Porter's 2nd place finish in the triple jump with his distance of 43-10.  Additional individual scorers for the Indians included Jon Berzonsky 6th place 800 meters (1:58.01), Stanford Webb 6th place long jump (21-7), and Ben Cochran 7th place shot put (45-2).  The 4x400 relay team of Jon and Will Berzonsky, Jacob Gill, and Jacob Killeen took 5th place running 3:34.17.

The team will return to action Monday (4/24) afternoon with their final section meet of the season at Penn Trafford.
