IHS Boys Golf Comes Down to the Wire, Improves to 3-0

August 18, 2022 | Indiana, PA - Indiana improved their record to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the section with an exciting 199-206 victory in the section opener against Hempfield.

Junior Trevor Todd was the medialist for the third consecutive match. Todd shot an even par 36 that included 1 birdie, 1 bogey and 7 pars. Junior Harrison Martineau and Senior Adam Cowburn also fired rounds in the 30's by shooting 38 and 39 respectivley. Cowburns' round was highlighted by holing out a shot from 40 yards for eagle on the first hole. Sophmores Gabe Nettleton (42) and Caden Force (44) rounded out the scoring for Indiana.

The total score of 199 was the first time an Indiana boys golf team has broken the 200 barrier in 2 years. Caden Biondi shot 39 to lead a balanced attack for Hempfield. All six Hempfield starters shot between 39 and 43. Indiana will host a tri-match against Hollidaysburg and West Shamokin on Thursday, August 19 with a 1:30 PM tee time.
