Monday, September 16, 2024 | Apollo, PA - For the second time in less than two weeks, the Indiana boys' golf team tied a section opponent. However, this time the Indians came out ahead of the sudden death playoff. In a match for second place and a spot in the team playoffs, Indiana and Kiski Area played to a 201-201 tie in regulation.
Indiana's
Ryan Bell,
Chace Force,
Austin Schawl and
Caden Force played the playoff hole in one over par. Kiski Area was four over par in the playoff. Bell, both Forces and Schawl all made birdie on the final hole of the regulation match to for the playoff.
Chace Force led Indiana with a 38. Force was followed up by
Austin Schawl (39),
Ryan Bell (40),
Caden Force (41) and
Gabe Nettleton (43). The top six golfers wil lbe back in action today for the Individual Section Qualfier at Birdsfoot Golf Course. Indiana will wait to find out which of the two sites they will be placed in the for the first round of team playoffs set for the first week of October.
Indiana finishes the regular season with a 13-3 (10-2 section) overall record, good enough for second place in the section behind Greater Latrobe.
