Tuesday, January 3 | Indiana, PA - The IHS boys' basketball team swept Greensburg Salem in both the JV and Varsity matchups while the IHS girls' basketball team won the JV matchup but dropped the Varsity game to Kennedy Catholic.
Boys' Basketball
The Varsity boys' basketball team opened section play and defeated Greensburg Salem by a score of 63-48 on Tuesday night. Leading the way for the Indians was
Gavin Homer (25 points), followed by
Stanford Webb (11 points) and
Evan Brocious (10 points). Indiana moves to 5-5 overall, 1-0 section and now face their toughest matchup this year in the Hampton Talbots on Friday night.
The Indiana JV boys' basketball team defeated Greensburg Salem by a score of 46-29 and move to 5-3 overall.
Girls' Basketball
The Varsity girls' basektball team dropped a tough matchup with Kennedy Catholic on Tuesday night by a score of 42-39. Kennedy Catholic scored 24 of their 42 points in the 4th quarter and outscored the Indians 30-18 in the second half. Leading the way for the Indians was
Bella Antonacci (17 points) followed by
Eve Fiala (9 points) and
Katie Kovalchick (6 points). The Indians dropped to 6-4 overall, 2-0 section and now travel to Gateway on Friday for a section matchup.
The Indiana JV girls' basketball team defeated Kennedy Catholic by a score of 58-27. Leading the way for Indiana was
Cassie Boyer (15 points),
Sera Todd (13 points) and
Julia Antonacci (11 points).
