Coach Candice Lockard has 20 years of Cross Country Coaching at IASD, during which Indiana won multiple WAADA championships. She also has 10+ years coaching track and field, also including multiple WAADA championships. Coach Lockard has two years coaching Indiana High School Lacrosse as a volunteer coach and two years youth lacrosse coaching. Prior to Indiana Coaching, Coach Lockard has five years as the Head Volleyball Coach at Mars Area School District and one year at Indiana.
Coach Lockard has worked for the Indiana School District as a social studies teacher for the past 21 years and has worked in education for 26 years total.
Candice is an avid runner and ultramarathoner. Candice has completed many marathons, including qualifying and running the Boston Marathon four times. She has won several ultra distance races including most recently the Rabid Raccoon 100k (2022), On the Dam Trail 34 miler (2021 and 2022), Run with the Deer Flies 25k (2021), Red Barn Challenge (101 miles in 21 hours, 2021) and finished third in the Burning River 100 mile race (2019).
Candice and her husband Al have also served as race directors for several events, including the InFirst Bank Veterans Marathon from 2016-2021.
Candice graduated from Hollidaysburg High School (1990) and the University of Pittsburgh (1994 and graduate school in 1996)
Candice is a proponent of lifelong running and promotes running for fun and community!
