Stan played at IHS from 1977-79 and holds the all-time record for career points scored (1,502) and points scored in a single game (46).
After graduating from IHS he played at Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth, VA and led the post-graduate basketball team in scoring. Stan received a full athletic scholarship to play basketball at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY, which played in the Division II Final Four in 1982 and 1984. Following his career at Kentucky Wesleyan College, Stan was a volunteer coach at IUP (84-84). Stan then went on to coach the class of 2025 elementary basketball program from 2015-2019. Stan enters his fourth year coachign at IHS as an assistant Varsity and Head JV basketball coach.
