Wednesday, February 11, 2026 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana girls' basketball team finished their regular season with style, beating fellow section foe Penn Trafford to better their playoff seeding and share the section championship title. The brackets were announced on Monday and Indiana will be the #3 seed out of the WPIAL 5A bracket. The Indians will host the first round of the 5A Championships on Friday, February 13th as they welcome in the #14 seeded Mars Fightin' Planets. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM. The Opponent
The #14 Mars Fightin' Planets come into the tournament as the fourth and final team of Section 3 (5A). The overall record was 10-12 on the season with a 6-6 section record. The other teams that qualified for the WPIAL 5A Championships from their section is South Fayette, West Allegheny & Chartiers Valley. Mars averages 43.4 points per game and gives up 45.3 points per game. They are led by senior guard Alexis Cashdollar. Cashdollar averages almost 20 points per game and leads Mars in nearly every other statistical category including rebounds (7.2), assists (2.0) and steals (3.1).
