Thursday, October 3, 2024 | Indiana, PA - The Indiana Area High School Head Swimming & Diving Coach Sarah Brown has been named the 2023-24 Boys' Swimming Coach of the Year per NFHS (Pennsylvania). Brown and the team are coming off a season where they were absolutely perfect, sweeping every meet, invitational, district meet and state meet en route to Indiana's first and only PIAA team championship in school history. 

The PIAA Board of Directors voted on nominations, given by Athletic Directors across the state on September 6, 2024. The PIAA participates in the National Federation of State High School Associations or NFHS Coaches Award Program. Through this program NFHS recognizes coaches in the top 10 boys' and top 10 girls' sports. The Indiana athletics office recieved contact on Thursday afternoon from the Assistant Executive Director from the PIAA, along with the Executive Director of the WPIAL congratulating Coach Sarah Brown on this incredible achievement. The honor is a first of its kind in Indiana Area School District history as the accolades from the historic swim/dive season continue to pile up. Coach Brown is now eligible to be selected for the same honor at the regional and national level.
