Thursday, March 30, 2023 | Indiana, PA - Lead by Head Coach Matt Neil and newcomer Assistant Coach Scott Shirley, the Indiana boys' tennis team have opened up their season in dominant fashion. Indiana began the season on the road against Mt. Pleasant with a win of 3-2. Following that win, the Indians defeated a tough Kiski Area team by a score of 3-2. Most recently, the Indians traveled to play the Ramblers from Windber and came out on top in dominating fashion, winning 5-0. 

Game #1 Mt. Pleasant W 3-2

The Indiana Boys Tennis team opened the season with a 3-2 section  victory over Mt. Pleasant on Monday. Posting victories for Indiana were  Noah Weigner #3 singles, #1 doubles Andrew Kobak/Carter Mock, and #2 doubles Christian Brown/Ben Froud.

#1 Aydan Gross (MTP) over Gabe Nettleton (I) 7-5,4-6,6-1
#2 Eli Duvall (MTP) over Kyle Zheng (I) 6-0,6-2
#3 Noah Weigner (I) over Cole Surma (MTP) 6-2, 6-0

Doubles
#1 Andrew Kobak/Carter Mock (I) over Brandon WIlson/ Carter Mates (MTP) 6-4,, 6-2
#2 Christian Brown/Ben Froud (I) over Tyler Wadsworth/Colin Hayes (MTP) 6-1,6-1

Game # 2 Kiski Area W 3- 2

The Indiana boys tennis team improved 2-0 and 2-0 in the section with a 3-2 victory over Kiski Area. Picking up victories for the Indians in singles were Julio Minguez and Kyle Zheng. With the match tied at 2, the doubles team of Christian Brown and Ben Froud picked up a big 7-5 victory in the 3rd set.

#3 Kyle Zheng (I) over Luke Snedecar (KA) 6-4, 7-6

#1 Ethan Beck/ Daivd Curry (KA) over Noah Weigner/Andrew Kobak 6-2, 6-3
#2 Christian Brown/Ben Froud (I) over Austin Beck/ Ronin Wilcaek 7-6,3-6, 7-5

Game #3 Windber W 5-0

The Indiana Tennis Team continued  its hot start by beating Windber 5-0. Picking up singles victories were Gabe Nettleton, Julio Minguez, Kyle Zheng and Carter Mock. The doubles pair of Christian Brown and Ben Froud also won.
