Thursday, March 23, 2023 | Dubois, PA - Indiana exploded for 7 runs in the top of the 8th inning to ultimately defeat the Dubois Central Catholic Cardinals on Thursday night with a score of 10-7. The Cardinals put up 4 unearned runs in the bottom of the 8th inning against sophomore winning pitcher, Ryan Okopal, but it was not enough to mount a late inning comeback. Indiana amassed 14 hits on the night and only struck out six times. Eight different Indians had hits while four had multi-hit efforts coming from senior Gavin Homer (3 hits, 2 RBIs), freshman Ethan Shank, junior Kadin Homer and senior Nick Love, (3 hits, 2 RBIs, 1 SB) who also contributed a big fly in the contest. Newcomer and freshman Charlie Manzi had his first varsity hit which was a towering two-run blast. Gavin Homer went five strong innings on the bump for the Indians, holding the Cardinals offense to just three hits while walking one and striking out one.

The Indians head back to Dubois on Wednesday, March 29th for a matchup with the Beavers. First pitch is set for 4:30 PM.
