Monday, September 26, 2022 | Southmoreland, PA - After defeating Greensburg Salem on Thursday, Sept.22 5-0, The Indiana Girls Tennis team traveled to Southmoreland on Monday needing a victory to win the 2022 WPIAL AA Section 1 Title. Dominance is a bit of an understatement. The girls defeated the Scotties 5-0 with all starters winning matches in two sets.
#1 Singles Anna Butterbaugh won 6-0, 6-0, #2 Singles
Tess Kuzneski won 6-3, 6-0, #3 Singles
Katarina Medvetz won 6-3, 6-2.
#1 Doubles team of
Eve Kuzneski &
Kate Lehman won 6-0, 6-0. and #2 Doubles team of
Grace Cook &
Johanna Welch winning 6-1, 6-0.
Indiana is now 8-0 overall, and finished section 1 play with a perfect 7-0 record. They will be in action tomorrow at home in a non-section match with Armstrong. They will participate in the Doubles Section Championships at Valley High School on Wednesday.
